In 1977 the Swedish supergroup ABBA made their first tour to Australia. Greeted by thousands of fans, it was an outstanding success - now ABBAWORLD, an extraordinary interactive multimedia exhibition that covers all the glitz and glamour of ABBA, is set to do it all over again - Federation Square, situated right in the middle of Melbourne, is ready to open its gates to the Australian ABBA fans.

ABBAWORLD, the Official Interactive Exhibition approved and supported by ABBA, opens at Melbourne’s Federation Square on Saturday 19 June at 10am.

Infused with state-of-the-art technology, the highly interactive experience will take visitors on a mind-blowing journey through ABBAWORLD’S 25 environments, displayed over 3 levels, at Federation Square.

ABBAWORLD, the Official Interactive Exhibition approved and supported by ABBA, opens at Melbourne’s Federation Square next month with a new opening date of Saturday 19 June.

The re-scheduled date, one week later than planned, is due to freight delays caused by the recent volcanic ash clouds experienced in Europe.

Announced last month by Dainty Consolidated Exhibitions, ABBAWORLD is an extraordinary multimedia exhibition that is coming to Melbourne and will enable visitors to experience the music and magic of ABBA in a completely new and distinctive way.

Following the opening of ABBAWORLD at Earls Court in London, the former ABBA member Björn Ulvaeus has released a book, a H. C. Andersen tinted fairy tale titled The Little White Piano, sold exclusively at the exhibition, Björns royalty going to Nordhoff Robbins - music therapy charity.

ABBAWORLD OPENS AT MELBOURNE´S FEDERATION SQUARE JUNE 2010

Dainty Consolidated Entertainment in conjunction with Touring Exhibitions is delighted to announce that they will be bringing ABBAWORLD to Melbourne in June 2010.

It truly was an evening of music, memories and magic when ABBAWORLD welcomed ABBA fans and special guests from all around the world to its spectacular grand opening at Earls Court on Tuesday, celebrating the Swedish supergroup all around. In what promises to be one of the most exciting and spectacular features of the upcoming ABBAWORLD exhibition, the audience will be able to sing and dance together with the Swedish supergroup ABBA on stage. With the high definition holographic video system Eyeliner, ABBA returns to the stage through a holographic illusion of the group for the visitor to interact with. Senior director of production Mats Daleskog of Touring Exhibitions, the company behind ABBAWORLD, says, We were very impressed with the Eyeliner system when it was presented to us by Musion Systems, and we immediately knew that this was something we had to incorporate into ABBAWORLD. Its an amazing, seemingly magical technology, and Musion Systems have really excelled themselves when it comes to this one.

A newly developed audio guide, TXP (Touring Exhibitions Player) will serve as an interface between the audience and the highly interactive environment of the upcoming ABBAWORLD exhibition that premieres in London the 27th of January. Having researched the market for audio guide systems, Touring Exhibitions, the company behind ABBAWORLD, decided to forgo the existing systems and develop their own audio guide, the TXP, from scratch.

London, 20 January 2010: ABBA Mania will hit London next week with the highly anticipated ‘Arrival’ of ABBAWORLD at Earls Court. To add to the excitement, band members and living legends, Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Björn Ulvaeus will start the celebrations off in style as they step onto the red carpet and into ABBAWORLD, at the world premiere, Earls Court, Tuesday 26 January 2010.
