In 1977 the Swedish supergroup ABBA made their first tour to Australia. Greeted by thousands of fans, it was an outstanding success - now ABBAWORLD, an extraordinary interactive multimedia exhibition that covers all the glitz and glamour of ABBA, is set to do it all over again - Federation Square, situated right in the middle of Melbourne, is ready to open its gates to the Australian ABBA fans.

"We have good memories from Australia and Melbourne in particular, where we received an enthusiastic welcome by thousands of fans at the Town Hall," says Agnetha Fältskog. "ABBAWORLD makes it possible to relive the past in ways we never thought possible and it will be great to see the fans enjoy this unique exhibition."

Paul Dainty, chairman of Dainty Consolidated Entertainment, has brought some of the largest and most successful tours to Australia over the years, among them, ABBA in 1977, and once again, in the form of ABBAWORLD, he is bringing the Swedish group back to Australia and Federation Square in Melbourne.

"ABBAWORLD is an amazing exhibition which captures the essence of the ABBA phenomenon and Federation Square, with its spectacular architecture and atmosphere, is the perfect venue for this event. It's great to once again be part of bringing ABBA to the Australian fans," says Dainty.

Magnus Danielsson, president of Touring Exhibitions, the production company behind ABBAWORLD, is looking forward to the Melbourne premiere.

"This is going to be as exciting as the premiere run in London, Melbourne will be no less of a success” says Danielsson, who adds that the exhibition is in high demand. “We are literally drowning in requests from cities all over the world that want to host ABBAWORLD."
